The P-CCS 'LPT in 3' Podcast for April 12, 2023

  • Save the date for the second annual P-CCS Health & Wellness Fair April 29 in downtown Plymouth’s Kellogg Park

    • The fair is part of the district’s efforts to crush the stigma surrounding mental health and connect families to resources around our community in a fun and engaging way.

    • The event will feature lots of fun things to do, including a creation station, chair massages, fun with therapy dogs and horses, free food, raffles, and information from more than 70 mental health and wellness resources.

    • The fair will take place in Kellogg Park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 29

  • Thanks to P-CCS Director of Food & Nutrition Services Kristen Hennessey, and Dodson Elementary’s students and staff for hosting Stacy Dean, USDA Deputy Under Secretary for Food, Nutrition, and Consumer Services, along with dairy industry officials to announce new guidelines for milk in schools.

    • The guidelines will limit the amount of added sugar in flavored milks.

    • The announcement was made after guests ate lunch in the Dodson cafeteria and spoke with students.

    • The day gave national officials the chance to see the work of our district’s outstanding foodservice staff.

  • Congratulations to Field Elementary and Pioneer Middle School social worker Mary Demarest on being named Michigan Association of School Social Workers Region A School Social Worker of the Year!

    • Demarest’s dedication to helping our students with their social and emotional well-being set her apart when she was selected as the award winner by MASSW’s peer review board.

    • As a Regional School Social Worker of the Year, Demarest will now be nominated for the State School Social Worker of the Year Award, which will be presented at the MASSW Fall Conference in October.
