Adopt-A-Book

The Eriksson Media Center has a program called Adopt-A-Book. This program is a wonderful way to supplement the media center book collection. Ms. Cottey, the media specialist, will select new books that students, families and staff members may adopt. To adopt a book, a student should come to the media center with a parent/guardian to select a book. After paying the cost of the book, the student will have his/her picture taken holding the book. These pictures will be displayed in the media center. A bookplate will be placed inside the front cover of the book in honor of the person who adopted it. The student who adopted the book will receive a certificate of appreciation and will be the first person to check out the book from the media center. Some reasons for adopting a book have been for a birthday, in honor of a teacher, or just for the fun of it! Students enjoy seeing the books they adopted checked out by other students and feel very proud of their contribution.
