  1. Call 416-3150 before 8:30 A.M.
  2. Select Option 2
  3. Please state your Child's name, Teacher's name and reason for the absence or late arrival

Contacting your Child at School

If you know in advance that you will be picking your child up early from school, please send a note with your child to the classroom teacher. This will assist us in having your child ready to go upon your arrival.

In the event you need to get a message to your child/children after school has started regarding changes in plans, we ask parents to please call the school office by 3:00 p.m. This will allow us time to deliver the message to your child before dismissal.

Cell Phone Policy

Students may possess a cell phone at school but they must be turned off and kept in their backpack while at school or on the bus.

Schedule Changes/Play dates

If your child will be going home with another student or on a different bus than usual, parents of both students need to send a note to the office giving permission for the schedule change.

Traffic Safety/Parking Lot

Traffic Safety is a priority at Gallimore. Please follow the guidelines listed below for everyone’s safety and convenience. This will help speed up the arrival and departure process safely for everyone.

  • The drop off loop is One Way - counterclockwise
  • Cars are not allowed in the bus loop at anytime.  It is reserved for buses only.
  • For safety reasons the speed limit is 10 M.P.H. at all times

When dropping your children off please pull forward in the north car loop as far as possible, children need to exit vehicles from the curbside only.  Please encourage your child to be ready so they can exit the vehicle quickly in order to keep traffic flowing.

When picking your child up at dismissal please pull forward as far as possible and do not leave your vehicle. One line of traffic only please, children should never walk between cars.

If you need to get out of your vehicle, you must park in a designated parking space.

Vacation Guidelines

We believe that children learn best when they attend school everyday. However, we understand there may be a time when you need to take a vacation with your child during the school year.  While informing the teacher about a vacation is helpful, the office must also be notified by you to assure the attendance is recorded correctly for your child. Please stop by the office to complete the Family Vacation Notice or download this form and submit it to the school office : Family Vacation Form

Weather & Outdoor Guidelines

Children will go outside for recess everyday unless the wind chill index is below 15 degrees according to the National Weather Service (Willow Run) or it is raining.  This guideline has been established in conjunction with the Wayne County Health Department.

Please make sure your children are dressed appropriately for winter weather. This includes jackets, gloves, hats, snow pants and boots on snowy days.   Children must have snow pants and boots to leave the blacktop area on days when snow is on the ground. (Parent Tip: labeling your child's clothing is helpful.)
