Smith Elementary School Back to School News and Information for the 2024-2025 School Year


Student Registration:

Please visit www.pccsk12.com to start the pre-enrollment process.  Registration requirements and forms can be found on the district website on our Registration Page.  Once all the documentation is uploaded, please make an appointment by clicking on the Smith link to schedule an appointment to complete the registration.

Complete back to school check-in

Check-in opens on August 17th. It is helpful if this is completed prior to the first day of school as this takes place of completing an emergency card. Login to Parent Connection where you will see a ‘Back to School Check-in’ link on top of the home screen. New families will receive an email with their pin and password mid-August from the district.

Class Assignment:  

Class assignments will be accessible through the MiStar Parent Connection as of Monday, August 26th at 4:00 p.m.  Please be sure to log in to find out who your child or children's teacher will be for the 2024-2025 school year.   If you need assistance accessing the Parent Connection please contact Smith.technology@pccsk12.com.  

First Day of School:  

The first day of school is Tuesday,  September 3, 2024. This is a half-day of school. School will begin at 8:55 a.m. and students will be dismissed at 12:10 p.m.  The dismissal time for a full day of school is 4:01 pm. If your child is going to be absent, please call our attendance line at 734-416-4850 prior to 9:00 a.m.

Emergency cards

Emergency cards information should be updated in MiStar Parent Connection.  Please make sure phone numbers, emails, emergency contacts and medical information are accurate.

Medications

Students who require medication during the school day should have that medication and documentation submitted to the school office prior to the start of each new school year.  More information is available regarding Medication Use on our district website.  Written authorization from a physician must accompany ANY medication, this includes over the counter medication. Please call the school office if you have questions regarding the handling of medications.

Smith School Open House:

The Smith Open House is tentatively scheduled for the evening of Wednesday, August 28, 2024 from 5:30-7:00 pm.  This is a great time to meet your teacher, see your classroom, and drop off any school supplies.
