Welcome to the Tonda Elementary School Website. We make every effort to maintain the site with the most current information available.

Tonda Elementary School is committed to the education of each and every child, catering educational experiences to individual student’s needs and focusing on the whole child (academic, social, emotional, and behavioral learning).  As a result, we are dedicated to planning and guiding experiences that consider individual differences and lead to specific and intended learning outcomes that align with our district’s Dynamic Plan and foster the development of skills/characteristics that make up the P-CCS Learner Profile.

Tonda Elementary serves approximately 495 students in Young 5’s Kindergarten through the 5th grade. We currently have 20 general education classrooms and two Multiage Self-Contained classrooms.  Our average general education class size is 24 students to one teacher.

In addition to the 22 certified classroom teachers that offer instruction in language arts, math, science, and social studies, 19 professional support staff members provide special programming in the areas of special education, multi-language learning, media, music, art, innovation, physical education, and social-emotional learning.

Our students are exposed to many enrichment opportunities that are aligned with the curriculum and our staff works collaboratively to create lessons that address high-level thinking skills while varying the complexity of the assignments based on the individual learner’s level of understanding.

Tonda students are fortunate to learn from an experienced staff that is open to new ideas and are always looking for better ways to teach the district curriculum.  We value the continuation of our own personal and professional development and, as such, collaborate with a building-level Instructional Coach and Behavior Support Specialist to ensure we are improving our own understanding of how we can best support our students.

The staff at Tonda create a positive learning environment for all students, developing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral foundational skills, and we strive to continuously model the importance of lifelong learning.
