Reminders and information about the East camp procedures
Morning of Camp: Departure Information – Wednesday, October 9, 2024
-
Before arriving to East, self-screen for the presence of COVID or flu symptoms. These symptoms may include fever of at least 100.0 degrees Fahrenheit, dry cough, shortness of breath, headache, muscle/body aches, loss of taste and/or smell, sore throat or diarrhea/nausea/vomiting.
-
If your child is sick, PLEASE do not send them to camp. Students that become ill at camp will need to be picked up and brought home. A map and driving directions to camp will come home in a packet on October 2.
-
There’s no school for PCCS students on Wednesday, which means there’s no school buses available. Please arrange to drop off your camper and their luggage outside of the gym at East between 8:15 and 8:30 AM. Our coach buses will arrive around 8:30 AM so please be sure to have your student there on time. We will not be able to wait for students.
-
All medication being brought to camp must be dropped off at our medication station inside a freezer bag clearly labeled with your child’s name. The drop off table will be located outside of gymnasium, weather permitting.
-
No student may carry medicine on their person (except inhalers and/or Epi-pens - this is a must!).
-
Medication must be in the original packaging with the dosage clearly marked on it. Any medication given at camp must have been listed on the YMCA health form.
-
Medication that states “12 and older” cannot be administered to students without a doctor’s note.
-
During drop off Wednesday morning, please DO NOT PARK. With the construction going on at East, we will need room to get our coach buses into the parking lot. Use the drop off loop in front of East to drop off your child and go. I promise we will take great care of them!
Return from Camp Information – Friday, October 11, 2024
-
Our coach buses will arrive in front of East between 1:15 and 1:30pm on Friday. The front parking lot will be VERY busy so pack your patience and pay attention to the cones so that you don’t park in our bus unloading areas. Students need to be picked up at this time. There are no classes for students to attend and students will not be allowed in the building. They will be tired and want to go home. You may get lucky and receive lots of hugs and great stories. However, some students need a good nap before they share the fun they had.
-
All luggage will need to be unloaded from the buses BEFORE we can dismiss students from each bus. We will need your help with this!
-
All medication sent to camp will be available outside the gymnasium.
