On Friday, December 4th our 8th grade WEB Leaders worked with our 6th grade students to help them understand there are many things that can weigh us down emotionally. The 6th graders were asked to do some physical activities with an empty back pack and then WEB leaders loaded their back packs with books to represent negative messages that could weigh students down. They talked about how much harder it was to do the activities when they were carrying around all the heavy, negative stuff. Then 6th graders created tags with positive messages that could help "lighten" the load. These messages are being used to create a paper chain link that will hang in the 6th grade hallways as a reminder to be kind and positive with each other.
